Syl Apps was also a world class Pole Vaulter, he won a Gold Medal in the 1934 British Empire Games, He later went to the 1936 Olympics in Berlin and placed 6th
Syl Apps was named NHL 1st Team All-star in 1939-42 and 2nd Team in 1941 and 1943
